It’s Christmas time and this famous Mediterranean city is getting ready so that you can enjoy these special dates to the fullest whether you are with your family or friends, or if you’re just passing through.

Christmas in Benidorm is different because you’ll find soft sand instead of snow, as well as a spectacular, blue sky with a bright sun reflected in the pristine waters of the Mediterranean Sea. In this article, you’ll get to know the varied range of activities that will make these dates more special than ever because, at Aqualandia, we want you to enjoy the magic of Christmas as much as possible.

Attractions for Children

The Christmas lights are already shining on the main streets of Benidorm and everything is ready so that children can have a great time during their school holidays with a wide range of activities designed especially for them.

And, of course, in Benidorm you’ll find lots of attractions for children like the traditional bounce houses that they love so much and a carousel, which are located –according to the “Información” newspaper– on Gambo Street, in Elche Park, and in the Sus Majestades Los Reyes de España Square. Likewise, the City Council’s Department for Culture reminds us that activities have been organized in the Christmas Square such as magic workshops, Christmas ornament workshops, 3D landscapes, puppets, as well as theater performances and children’s song sessions.  Likewise, children’s movies such as “Frozen,” “The Grinch,” and “Nightmare Before Christmas” will be shown.

Ice Skating Rink

And, of course, we mustn’t forget the traditional ice skating rink located in the Christmas Square! After all, this time of the year inspires one to put on some skates and some gloves and to slide fearlessly over the ice – this is one of the preferred family activities.

Still, activities for children do not end here.  Additionally, your little ones can visit Santa Clause in the Christmas Village (set up on Gambo Street) and they can personally give him their letter asking for the toys, presents, and gifts they want to receive this year.

Nativities

You can also visit a Nativity Exhibition by Paco Rosera in the Boca del Calvari Museum of Benidorm.  In this exhibition, you’ll likewise find the nativity done by the Amics del Betlem Association of Marina Baixa.

Christmas Tree

Moreover, you can take your best photograph alongside the 11-meter Christmas tree that has been put up by the Visit Benidorm Foundation.  It is located where Levante Beach intersects with Atmella del Mar Avenue.  There are two more trees of a lesser size at Torrejó and El Mirador.
