The summer holidays have arrived, and they have brought along with them the heat… so much heat! In the summer, we have a friend that accompanies us every day from dawn to dusk: the sun.
We all love the sun because it means that summer has arrived, and we like to get tan and enjoy a day outdoors taking advantage of the good weather. But there is a downside because, sometimes, we have to be careful with this great friend. Especially if we’re planning to spend a whole day outside of our house and continuously exposed to the sun.
Enjoying the great variety of attractions offered by Aqualandia, going to the beach, taking walks, going outside to do sports… all this makes us spend long hours under the sun. We may not realize it, but we are exposed to the sun for many hours every day and that can be very harmful for our health; so, we have to protect ourselves.

In the first place, it’s a good idea to avoid the midday sun. Why? Well, because this is when the sun is most present and when it is the hottest. You can take advantage of the midday hours to do other activities in our park, such as, for example, eating in our hamburger or pizza restaurants or relaxing in a hammock in Aqualandia’s rest area.
Even if you’re spending the day at Aqualandia surrounded by water and coolness, the sun is still present. Thus, just staying in shady areas and avoiding key hours is not enough – you also must use sunscreen and choose a suitable sun protection factor (SPF). This recommendation is one of the most important ones as it will keep you from getting burnt even if you spend all day outside and, thus, help to prevent future medical problems and avoid damaging the skin.
If what you want is to spend a fun, non-stop day at Aqualandia, another tip to beat the heat and protect yourself is to use sun glasses and caps. In this way, you won’t damage your eyes and the cap will help to prevent continuous sun exposure to your face and head.
Last but not least, it is essential to be well hydrated throughout the day. Even if you aren’t thirsty, try to drink something anyway to avoid heat stroke and stay hydrated on the inside – after all, that’s what matters most.
